Hosted by comedian Allison Goldberg, How To Break Up By Text is a podcast that turns real and embarrassing break-up texts into entertainment - through hilarious reenactments, interviews with the break-up-texters themselves, and the best comedians/performers in the business getting deep in their business. Alli, the performers, and each episode’s expert dispense important advice to our texters – when it actually makes sense to break up by text, pitfalls to be avoided, and concrete lessons to carry into future relationships.
We live in a digital age. The United States Surgeon General has said that modern technology and social media have created an "epidemic" of loneliness. And the dating world is no different. Texting has become the primary form of communication, and emotional intelligence has suffered as a result. Whether it's a bro sending a group text to all the women he's secretly dating, or a woman who decides to send forty-seven impulse texts in a row instead of taking a minute to think things through, almost everyone has sent a text they're not proud of. This podcast was created to help us take a comedic look at our own behavior.
